The
Barnes Group designed and developed this company's
next-generation application for the pickup and
delivery of parts for a Big Three auto manufacturer.
This new client/server-based system provides
the company the ability to receive information
electronically from both the auto manufacturer and
parts suppliers for analysis and route maintenance.
As part of a "Just-In-Time" supplier
system, this system has allow the company to develop a
new relationship with the manufacturers and increase
business in each of the three years of its operation.
Our
services included requirements analysis, selection of
development tools and query software, database design,
and application development using an interactive
prototyping methodology.
Following
implementation of this system, as a requirement of the
auto manufacturer, a Disaster Recovery Plan was
developed and implement by The Barnes Group.
This plan included provisions for plan testing,
maintenance and staff training.
